Tiendalli makes Holland debut, while De Guzman also features

Trio of Swansea players currently on tour with Dutch squad

Tiendalli in action for Swansea
Ok, so Indonesia are hardly the most auspicious opponents but for Dwight Tiendalli it won't have mattered one bit. Coming on in the 66th minute of Holland's friendly tie with a team that, until independence in 1945 went by the name of the Dutch East Indies, Tiendalli helped his team secure a 3-0 win, a game in which fellow Swan Jonathan de Guzman played the entire ninety minutes.

Ruud Gullit has so far been pleased with the efforts of his new-look squad, and is hoping this trip will act as a bonding session where his new team comes together:

“This team has a lot of new players and these new players need experience. We are not expecting them to win the World Cup but it will be a very good learning experience for them.” Ruud Gullit
One player undoubtedly keen to feature is 'keeper Michel Vorm, who had to watch from the sidelines as Ajax keeper Cillessen got the nod, but for De Guzman there's reason to be confident of inclusion in future. He started out wide on the right, and aquitted himself well - producing a solid display before substitutes Simm De Jong & Arjen Robben grabbed themselves some goals to put the game to bed.

Tiendalli come on at the expense of Daryl Janmaat, the Feyenoord right-back replaced with a third of the game remaining, and for the remainder of the match the right side of the Dutch squad was entirely Swansea players. Incredible.

Aspas: "I couldn't turn down Liverpool"

Something for all the folk stating that "the board could've done more to secure Aspas' signature".

"When I heard of Liverpool's interest I did not hesitate even for a minute. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world." Iago Aspas
Yeah, really looks like we could have done more there...
In terms of signings we've already announced the arrival of Jose Canas, and if history is anything to go by we'll have no idea who we're signing until it's announced. With little to no new speculation coming out of the club, we can only hope rumours of a rift were just that, rumours, and that all is well in SA1.
I've heard Demba Ba may be on his way out of Stamford Bridge. Now there's a player I wouldn't mind paying big wages...
